Who’s It Going To Be?

Good Evening my brother’s and sister’s in Christ. I’m so glad you’ve tuned in for another Spirit-Care Sunday blog post. I pray you’ve placed it on your To-Do List this week to live intentionally and with purpose. As always I pray this blog inspires you to self-reflect and edit where necessary. Blessings.

I want you to ask yourself, “Who’s it going to be?” Your flesh or who God called you to be? What are you willing to give up for the sake of being everything God created you to be? What does your cost look like? Are you willing to risk it all for His name sake? These are the decisions you will be faced with when you say, “Yes” to God’s will for your life.

If you’re someone who is growing into who God called you to be I want to encourage you tonight. I want you to know God isn’t looking for perfection from us. The only perfect person to walk this earth was Jesus Christ. God is looking for our hearts. He’s looking for our obedience. He’s looking for those of us who get back up when they fall down. He is looking for those who want Him more than we want anyone else. He wants to be our addiction, our coping mechanism, our lover, our friend. He wants to be everything and everyone we put before Him including ourselves.

I had a real conversation with myself this evening. I asked myself a simple question. Who’s it going to be? Is it going to be my thoughts or God? My fleshy desires or God? Alcohol or God? Distractions or God? Unforgiveness or God? Old mindsets or God? Familiar spirits or God? Who’s it going to be? Is who God ordained me to be GREATER than who I know myself to be? Is it greater than anything or anyone I’ve ever experienced? Yes! Yes, it is!

You don’t have to settle for familiarity. Allow God to change you from the inside out. Allow Him to reboot your thought process. Don’t you want to be better than you were yesterday, a year ago, a decade ago? You can’t do it without Christ. There are some relationships you need to give to God. There are some old habits you need to give to God. There are some fleshy desires you need to give to God. So give it to Him. This is your opportunity. This very moment you can choose to give it all to Him. No guilt or shame. He’ll take you as you are. Don’t you know He desires you more than anything else? He loves you more than anyone even yourself.

You have to desire to be who God called you to be more than you desire anything else. You have to crave it and even if you get thrown off track you have time to get back up and move forward. I believe God for your choice tonight. This is personal. Just you and God. Choose Him. Choose who He created you to be. I’m choosing Him right now at this moment. Who’s it going to be for you?

“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”

1 John 1:8-10
